About the Event

This attorney-reviewed class will give you the knowledge you need to understand the amount of force that is legal and justified for the SSO in response to a deadly force confrontation. Topics include:

  • Legal aspects of self-defense, shul security, and utilizing deadly force
  • Justifiable deadly force scenarios and proving a claim of self-defense
  • Illinois statutes dealing with self-defense and the use of deadly force
  • Making the 911 call, and its role in the ensuing aftermath
  • How to deal with responding police, investigating detectives, and prosecutors
  • Civil liability and lawsuits related to armed confrontations
  • The 6 P’s of preparedness
